I am more than willing to hear information that educates me, but if an edifying me I tried to say something I know that in the first paragraph I have to say something not true.treating cannabis withdrawalMarijuana Maintenance: Cannabis for Alcohol DependenceYou might say to yourself, why do we need to use medical marijuana for alcohol dependence - can we just send a 12-step program and make them quit completely all? The answer is a simple No. Although 12 step programs, great for the people that they work, the simple fact is that 12 step programs, the majority of people to help with alcohol problems, fail. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, is only one of fourteen people with Alcohol Use Disorder always seek treatment for it. And according to Doctor Jeffrey Brandsma and others that the effectiveness of treatment programs, more than two thirds of the people who drops out enroll in 12 step treatment programs without finishing, they have researched. Twelve step programs are for the people that they work, but something else is for the majority of problem drinkers, that is,e are not used by them. Fortunately, medical marijuana to fill this need for many people suffering from alcohol use disorders.
Some people could replace the use of medical marijuana to alcohol dependence as simple an addiction with another treatment to see. However, if we look at things from a public health perspective, we find that there is a huge difference in the effects of alcohol dependence when compared to marijuana. Severe alcohol withdrawal syndrome is accompanied by seizures, hallucinations, tremors, irregular heartbeat, and spikes in blood pressure. Untreated severe alcohol withdrawal symptoms leading to death in one of three cases.
In contrast, there is NO physical withdrawal from cannabis. People who are alcohol withdrawal benefit, can substitute medical Marihuana alcohol. The same goes for people who are violent or otherwise lose control of their behavior when they drink true - you could mellow pot, but it will not make you violent. People who have suffered liver damage from alcohol abuse can also benefit from medical marijuana, because cannabis is not toxic to the liver.
Some people may think that if you give medical marijuana to alcoholics they both drink and smoke pot and have a dual function. However, ALL of the research contradicts this assumption. In every single case where applied medical marijuana as a treatment for alcoholism patients either significant reduction in alcohol consumption or complete abstinence from alcohol have been reported.
Dr. Tod Mikuriya was. prescribing medical marijuana for a number of conditions including alcoholism for many years In Jahr 2004 he published his research on the use of marijuana to treat alcohol dependence. Mikuriya doctor prescribed cannabis for 92 patients with Alcohol Use Disorders. Every single one of these 92 patients reported a large reduction in alcohol consumption and alcohol-related problems. Nine patients reported that they contain alcohol verwaltetTely supplement for a year or more. All attributed this to the effects of marijuana.
Research Medical Marijuana in 2009 by Amanda Reiman of the School of Social Welfare, University of California, published Berkeley gave similar results. Patients who have been prescribed medical marijuana showed great reductions in the consumption of alcohol or other drugs and large reductions in drug or alcohol related harms
It all goes to show that the substitution of cannabis for alcohol or other drugsone of the most successful mitigation strategies ever invented.
Medical marijuana is now legal in 14 states. If nothing else works for your alcohol problem, then give medical marijuana a shot. The life that you save may be your own.
