[2015_MpG] Milan 2015: Metropolitan proto garden - 10 June 2009
Milan 2015: Metropolitan proto garden is a visionary project that the projection of a dream for a new kind of cybernetic urban ecology, but instead of Google Maps and Earth, Panoramio, Flickr, Facebook, on the one hand, iPhones, computational tools, interactive robots and devices: with fictional scenarios, the dream through the systematic and rational use of techniques and technologies that have already occurred and the other built our daily lives. In 2015_MpG these instruments are used to read, understand and ultimately control and manipulate real physical processes unfolding in Milan: the intensification of urban public life, the sights of the city of global consciousness, the concentration of air pollution, the collection of rain water, the access to public transport, the growth of Alcolonies, etc. The gene 2015_MpG interface extends the reach of such technologies become ions, tools, and finally the COMMUNICAT conversation with the city as a great living system.
This video can be read as a prototype, proof of concept of a new kind of urban planning and architectural interface / infrastructure, this form of machine architecture is a synthetic hybrid with embedded biological life [physical proto-Gardens], remote sensing, actuation and [embedded control and interaction systems in the proto-Gardens] capabilities, performance, [Urban oxygenation, seaweed farming, micro-climatic regulation], computing [Built-in mapping and simulation engines of MPGs digital interface] and communications [on-line visual interface and interactive physical systems].
The video features a customizable interface designed to ensure real-time Fernbedienung allows the user to visualize and the cicle of the feedback loop iteractions at different levels. [UH]: Urban Hydroponics is a prototype for growing plants in nutrient solutions without the use of land in order to provide support. It is very productive, conservative of water and land, and therefore particularly suited to the urban environment. [UH] integrates an interactive control that simulates and regulates the growth in the period, suggesting strategies and harvesting crops for local and global user model
[AF]. Algae farms make a new prototype of urban renewable energy power plant. [AF] is based on the highly efficient process of conversion of solar energy and CO2 based preformed into oily compounds by algae. Of algae, it is possible, as bio-fuel, hydrogen and biomass gain. The prototype can be updated at different scales, from small installations to large urban businesses, larger systems can research and teaching institutions to take over the Technology to develop
